About Us

The Green Bay Area Religious Special Education program has ministered to people with special needs since 1968.  Students learn and share their Catholic faith through classroom instruction, group activities, and participation in the Celebration of Mass.

Participants:
Our participants come from the parishes in the Diocese of Green Bay. Anyone age six through adult with developmental disabilities is welcome to join us.

Safety:
It is important that we work together to protect our children and at-risk adults. To this end, the Diocese of Green Bay has set forth guidelines to ensure that our children and at-risk adults are in the safest possible environment while in our care. This program is committed to compliance with those guidelines. All volunteers are required to complete Virtus training and to complete the volunteer application process.

Volunteering:
Volunteers are needed to work as catechists, classroom aide, ministry mentors, Sacristan, hall monitor, public relations/communications, potluck chairperson and/or help, and class-day set-up/clean-up help.

In a parish religious education program, the parish community/village provides the volunteers – and we are a small village. All talents are needed! If you are able to serve as a volunteer for our program, please contact our program director.
